No need to push. No need to fight. We didn\u2019t understand it then, but it stuck. The rhythm of it. The certainty.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1081\" data-end=\"1163\">Looking back, phrases like this are more than idioms\u2014they&#8217;re mini time machines.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1165\" data-end=\"1357\">They remind us how much of our modern speech is grounded in specific, physical events\u2014racing, sailing, blacksmithing, war.
