Welcome, and thank you for stopping by.
Today marks the beginning of something new. Something I’ve thought about for quite some time, and finally decided to bring to life. My name is Roger Wingfield, and this is my very first blog post on my very first blogging website. I decided to create this blog during coaching courses I took with successful online marketers John Thornhill (Online Success Coaching) and Michael Cheney (Millionaire’s Apprentice).
This space is more than just a platform for sharing my thoughts. It’s the start of a personal and professional journey that I hope will resonate with you, inform you, and—just occasionally—entertain you. I’m building this blog to contribute, to connect, and to explore new horizons. And if you’re reading this, I sincerely hope you’ll come along with me.
Why Now?
The idea of blogging has intrigued me for years, but like many people, I put it off. Life was busy. Projects piled up. Doubts whispered: “Do I have anything new to say?” or “Will anyone read it?”
But here’s the truth. In our modern, fast-changing world—especially with the explosion of AI, digital marketing, and remote entrepreneurship—there’s never been a better time to build something of your own. I’ve spent recent years immersing myself in internet marketing, online education, and product development, and it’s time to give those ideas a home.
This blog will be that home.
Who Am I, and What Am I Doing Here?
As mentioned, I’m Roger Wingfield. I’m not new to working life—far from it. In fact, I enjoyed a long and fulfilling career in the healthcare field before gradually turning my attention to the online world.
Post-retirement, I didn’t want to slow down. Quite the opposite—I wanted to channel decades of experience, curiosity, and hard-won lessons into something dynamic and purposeful. That led me into the world of online marketing, digital publishing, and course creation. And now, blogging.
I’ve always believed in the power of words—how they educate, inspire, and open up opportunities. A blog is the ideal vehicle for that.
What You Can Expect from This Blog
Now that the wheels are in motion, let me give you a sense of what’s coming.
I intend to post regular articles (ideally every weekday, if life allows) on a wide range of topics related to:
-
Affiliate marketing – What works, what doesn’t, and how to build a real business from it.
-
Online product creation – Courses, reports, eBooks, membership sites, and everything in between.
-
Digital tools and AI – My hands-on reviews and walkthroughs of tools that help creators thrive.
-
Email marketing – Still the backbone of any serious online business, and something I’ll talk about a lot.
-
Traffic and conversions – Because without them, the best products sit on digital shelves, untouched.
But beyond all that, I want this blog to be a personal voice. I won’t pretend to be perfect. I’ll share my wins, but I’ll also share what didn’t go so well. Because that’s how we learn, isn’t it?
You’ll see opinion pieces, tutorials, step-by-step walkthroughs, marketing commentary, and the occasional look back at how much has changed (and what hasn’t) in the business world. If you’re just getting started online, or thinking about it—this blog is especially for you.
My Promise to You
I believe in being open, clear, and helpful. So, here’s what you won’t find on this blog:
-
No fluff-filled posts written for search engines instead of humans.
-
No hype for hype’s sake.
-
No “get-rich-quick” nonsense.
Instead, what I hope you’ll find is a genuine and grounded voice. A place where real people trying to build real businesses can get advice, encouragement, and perhaps a bit of inspiration. You’ll get strategies that are working for me (or not!), reviews of tools I’m using myself, and examples drawn from actual experience—not theory.
And I invite you to hold me to that.
Let’s Talk About the Journey
I’m building this site from scratch. That means everything—from the layout to the content, from the branding to the tech stack—is being developed in real time. I’ll be open about how I’m doing it, what’s working, what software I’m using, and why.
In fact, one of my upcoming blog series will be a behind-the-scenes look at setting up a blog like this: domain selection, site hosting, SEO, email list integration, monetisation strategies and all the rest. If you’ve ever thought about launching your own blog or content platform, stay tuned. There’ll be plenty to learn here.
You might say this blog is about the blog. A chronicle of building something meaningful from the ground up.
Why “Go Get Ahead”?
You might have noticed that this blog is part of a wider site called GoGetAhead.com. That’s no accident. The name reflects a simple but powerful idea: if you want to achieve anything worthwhile, you need to take initiative and move forward.
“Go Get Ahead” isn’t just a brand. It’s a philosophy. It’s about personal development, digital entrepreneurship, and embracing technology to create the life you want.
Whether you’re a total beginner, someone returning to the digital world after a break, or even a professional looking to diversify—this blog is here to help you get ahead, one step at a time.
Final Thoughts (For Now)
So here we are. The very first post on what I hope will become a useful, practical, and enjoyable online destination. It’s a modest start, yes—but most good things begin that way.
If you’ve read this far, thank you. I truly appreciate your time.
Here’s what I’d love you to do next:
-
Bookmark the blog – Come back soon. I’ll be posting regularly, and I’d love for you to be part of the journey from the start.
-
Sign up to my email list – I’ll send helpful tips, behind-the-scenes updates, and exclusive content you won’t find on the blog itself.
-
Leave a comment or send a message – Introduce yourself. Tell me what you’re working on, or what you’d love to learn more about.
This isn’t just my blog. It’s our space to explore, learn, and grow together.
Let the journey begin.
Warm regards,
Roger Wingfield
